To all MWS participants, sponsors, and interested observers: I thank you for the honor of serving as your director for a short time. I regret that I have been unable to fulfill my responsibilities this season.

My personal and professional situation has prevented me from performing my duties. Clearly, I should have actively sought out a replacement before the season started, but I just refused to accept that I could not see it through. I hope my lack of action has not caused too much anxiety among the MWS ranks. Those on RCTech are aware that Andy Power has stepped up, and will take over all responsibilities of the position. Mike Cooper is also helping out by transitioning into the web master position. We are working closely to see that everything stays on track.

Many of you are wondering what is up with the awards. Yes they do exist! I really thought that I would make Toledo and Racing, but realized at the last moment that I could not make it. It was too late to send them along with anyone. I knew I would not make Mentor and planned to send them along with someone from around here, but they all decided against it at the last moment. I will coordinate with Andy to get them to you asap. I have donated the engraving (almost 200 hrs worth) to save money. Last season was a little lean, and I paid too much for the plaques ( I didn't like them much either), so I had less to start with. Even so, I was able to come up with plaques 3-4 events by doing the engraving myself. The plaques are glass (some are mirror). I hope they are well received. If Andy doesn't like them, he can go a different way for the rest of the season, but will have a pretty good balance left for end-of season awards.

Please give Andy all the support and respect he deserves for taking on the responsibilities of MWS Director! And thanks for not sending any anthrax or letter bombs my way!
